Sometimes when one hears something they like, it sticks to them—literally. Everyone has a favourite quote, song, saying or just something they happen to say all the time. Some people then opt to have this tattooed to their bodies in order to have it stand out. Celebrities are often seen to have different sayings tattooed to them; in fact, it has become a popular trend.

After deciding on a tattoo that includes a saying or quote, the person can choose anything from a favourite song lyric to a bible passage. The majority of sayings used in tattoo design are in regards to love. They can be accompanied by angel designs, cross designs, or other designs that are in memory of a loved one, alive or lost.

The person wanting a saying on their tattoo generally has their own symbolism for it. For example, if they chose to have the famous quote “all’s fair in love and war” tattooed to them, it may be in significance to having won back a love that someone else had taken from them.

Like most tattoos, deciding which saying to use is something that a lot of thought and consideration should be put into.
